Hello! I am Cassie Jefferson Gilley, the principal of Flippin High School. I have been in this position for the past seven years, but I have been a Bobcat much longer! Both of my parents (Billy G. Jefferson and Lola D. Hurst) attended Flippin High School before they were married in 1956. I was raised a military brat and attended schools all across the country, including Flippin High School one year while my dad was in Vietnam for one of his two tours of duty. I graduated in 1976 from Prince George High School and later graduated from Bluefield Baptist College in 1980, both located in Virginia. I started my career as an educator at Flippin High School during the 1982-83 school year, teaching English, speech, and journalism, and I just recently finished my 32nd year with Flippin School District. On a personal note, I have been married to David Gilley for 32 years. We have one son, Dr. Alex D. Gilley (2007 FHS graduate) who is married to Kristen Melson Gilley, and we have two grandchildren, Ryder and Aria. It has been and continues to be a privilege and pleasure to be a part of Flippin School District.
